I waited until the warmth melted away the fresh bit of snow from the window. Watching clear, clean droplets form and slide down the glass in random patterns always seems to calm my inner chaos. I'm missing the rain. Being surrounded by snow is sweet but it doesn't breathe like rain.
I'm spending way too many late nights waiting for the light to filter in and creep along the floor before I can see again.

A sense of dread... funny how things start off with the feeling that you should know that disaster is just nipping at your heels. You should know that what you've felt was lurking around the corner might actually be the reality you want to burn with a can of kerosene and a waterproof match.
Sometimes I wonder if I should have been born with a warning label: "Danger: Will Cause Strife, Approach with Caution". I honestly believe I'm intrinsically cursed. I can't go into details about why I have this perception of myself ... only that I know I can be misunderstood as being totally cold and distant. I'm listening, just not always with my heart.
My bad luck has just gone to DEFCON 4. Divine intervention in the form of a slap to the face with a feathered wing might reset... I just need more hours to sleep.
